Doris L. Rodewald passed peacefully on December 6th, 2024 at her home in New Lancaster at the age of 98. She was born on November 13th, 1926 at the family home in the Block area to Edward and Minnie (Cahman) Debrick. She graduated with the class of 1945 from Paola High School. After graduation she worked in Washington DC for 8 years. Returning home she married Herman Rodewald on September 27th, 1953 at the Trinity Lutheran Church. They had two sons Duane and Darrel. Doris was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and enjoyed singing with a small group at local nursing facilities. She also enjoyed gardening and crocheting and for many years entered them in the local fair.
 She is survived by her sons Duane Rodewald and Darrel (Brigitte) Rodewald, a granddaughter and one great grandson; one sister-in-law, Joyce Debrick and many nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
 Doris was preceded in death by her husband Herman; her parents, brothers Arnold Debrick and Rollie Debrick and sister-in-laws Alvina Debrick and Lorene Debrick.
 She will be dearly missed by all of friends and family.
 The family suggests memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Church at Block.
 Visitation Wednesday December 11th from 6 to 8pm at the Dengel and Son Chapel, Visitation Thursday from 10 to 11am at the Trinity Lutheran Church with services following at 11am.
