Gina Raye Jones

Gina Raye Jones, born June 20, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Byron Carl “Barney” and Florence Mae (Jilek Roman) Peterson, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She was 70 years old.

Gina graduated from Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa in 1972, where she met Kenneth Dean Jones. They were married on September 18, 1971, at High­land Park Christian Church in Tulsa. Gina worked for a grocery store and Southwestern Bell Telephone. When Kenneth joined the U.S. Air Force, Gina accompanied him around the world, living in Ger­many, Florida, and other locations. She embraced military life, working at ceramics shops on base, leading Girl Scout troops, and supporting the family’s farm and ranch.

A devoted homemaker, Gina enjoyed gardening, ceramics, crocheting, and caring for her cats and hummingbirds. Known for her compassionate spirit, she made sure everyone around her was taken care of. Gina was a dedicated prayer warrior, letter-writer, and Bible reader. She loved crafts, ranching, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Gina was a member of the Young Homemakers of America and attended New Covenant Church in Lookeba, Okla­homa.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Jones of Binger, Oklahoma; her children, Jeremy Jones and wife Patty of Binger, Jennifer Barnum and husband Eric of Paola, Kansas, Jessica Chappell and husband Carl of Wasilla, Alaska,; her goddaughters, Emily Vinson and husband Jesse of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Catie Pearson and husband Caleb of Lookeba, Okla­homa, and “Thursday Daughter”, Tammie Bohanan and husband Justin of Tuttle, OK; her twelve cherished grandchildren, Peyton, Anna, Jeremy, Christian, Con­ner, Tycen, Carter, Carsten, Carver, Colsen, Crayler, and Emberlee; her great-grandchild Lynx, and two more great-grandchildren on the way. Gina also leaves behind her siblings, Tricia Martin and husband Dean, Paul Peterson, and Jeff Huber and wife Gail, all of Tulsa, and Rob Huber and wife Julie of Stillwater, Oklahoma; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends

She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Florence Peterson, her mothers, Irene Peterson and Donna Peterson, her sister-in-law, Joyce Peterson, and her parents-in-law, Ed and Lavina Jones.
