HELEN WEBSTER

 Helen Lucille Webster, age 80, passed away December 30, 2024, at the Overland Park Regional Hospital. Visitation is Fri­day from 6 to 8pm at the Dengel and Son Mortuary with services Saturday, 2pm at the First Lutheran Church in Paola with burial at the Paola Cemetery.
 Helen was born on December 22, 1944, in Paola to Bernard Lee Hay­◤CO Check hyphenation◢den and Florette Alvina Debrick Hayden.
 She attended the Paola public schools and graduated from Paola High in 1963.
 After graduation she helped her parents in their drive in restaurant called J’s Footlong until she got a job in Kansas City, Missouri working in Merchant Produce Bank. Throughout her life Helen has worked hard at two and sometimes three jobs just to make ends meet.
 On June 7, 1970, Helen was united in marriage to William Lloyd Webster Jr. They had a wonderful 36 years of marriage. To this marriage they were blessed to adopt Helen’s three great nieces and nephew.
 Helen was very active in her church. She was secretary for several years to the church voting assembly, a Sunday school teacher for 1st and 2nd graders for 15 years, sang in the church choir, played in the hand chimes choir, always had a good ear to sit and talk and listen about God. Helen was baptized on January 28, 1945, and confirmed March 22, 1959, in the First Lutheran Church of Paola. Helen was also active in the community being assistant Girl Scout Leader over 11 years. After 5 years she retired from USD# 368 in March of 2007 due to her husband’s health, but still remained driving for the school bus driver First Student Company, going to different activities, especially varsity football, volleyball, and wrestling matches. Her hobbies were fishing, and crocheting. She was also for many years a Foster Grandmother.
 She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and other extended family members.
 Survivors are her three children, Danielle Alvina Mock, Christina Lea Provolt, and William Benjamin Webster., Three nieces , Rebeca Kirkpatrick, Florette Lucille Bigger, and Oleaha Dodson, step children, Carol Thompson, William Ronnie Webster, Mark Webster, Greg Webster, and Timothy Webster and many grand, great, and great great grandchildren.
