LOIS STILES

 Lois Maurine Stiles, 92, of Spring Hill, Kansas, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 30, 2025, at KU Medical Center, Kansas City. Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster Spring Hill, Kansas (913) 592-2244. Services will be 10:00am, Tuesday Feb. 4, 2025 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
 Contributions may be made to the Morning Grange Scholarship Fund or the Vance and Lois Stiles Agricultural Scholarship, in care of Bruce Funeral Home, Spring Hill, KS.
 Lois was born June 30, 1932 in Johnson County, Kansas, on a farm at the corner of 183rd and Ridgeview to Cecil Maurice and Alta Eola (Catlin) Williams. She attended Sunnyside, a one-room school, then graduated from Olathe High School in 1950.
 Lois worked at the Johnson County Superintendent of Schools office in the old Johnson County Courthouse in Olathe, and then in the new courthouse after it was built, from 1950 to 1953. She met her future husband, William “Vance” Stiles, at a Rural Life gathering near Spring Hill. They married on March 21, 1953, and made their home on Clearview Farm near Spring Hill. Lois lived on a farm her entire life in Johnson and Miami Counties. Clearview Farm was recognized as a Century Farm in 2018 by Kansas Farm Bureau.
 Lois joined the Olathe Methodist Church in 1941 and then the Spring Hill United Methodist Church about 1955. She was a 50-year-member of the Bonita Hummers Extension Homemakers’ Unit / Family and Community Education through Kansas State University Extension. She was involved in many activities with Morning Grange #227. She also participated in various oil and china painting groups over the years. She was involved in the Spring Hill Historical Society. Lois was a member of Sharon 4-H and later involved with Spring Hill Rustlers 4-H when her children were members. She volunteered for the Johnson County Fair, organizing the hand-painted china section for decades. Lois loved bird watching, working in her flower gardens, and taking care of her beautiful orchids and violets. She created various gifts of hand-painted china, sewing, card-making, and other crafts always planning the next project for her family and friends.
 She is preceded in death by her husband, Vance, daughter-in-law, Lesia Stiles, brother, Clyde Williams, and sister, Jeaneen Harra. Lois is survived by sons, Dale (Debby) Stiles, Keith Stiles, all of Spring Hill, and daughter, Carol Stiles (Pat), of Quitman, GA; six grandchildren: Jen and Jeff Rezac, Topeka, Brad and Andrea Stiles, Lincoln, NE, Kendra Stiles, Kansas City, MO, Mason Stiles, Overland Park, KS, Desiree and Zachary Lee, Frankfurt, Germany, Weston Stiles, Belton, TX; and nine great-grandchildren: Shannon, Kristen, Collin, Dalton, Ruby, Burke, Quinn, Reagan and Rhett.
