Kansas City Power & Light Co. is reporting 396 of its Miami County customers were without power midday Friday, June 21, after storms packing strong winds and heavy rain rolled through the area that morning.

The outages represent 2.54 percent of KCP&L's 15,618 customers in the county, according to the power outage map on the company's website.

Crews were working Friday afternoon to restore power to locations across the county, according to the company's website. 

At 3 p.m. Friday, KCP&L was reporting that most of the power outages in Miami County were west of Hillsdale Lake, where 349 customers were reported to be without power. 

KCP&L crews had restored power to most of its Miami County customers by 5 p.m. The company reported outages had been whittled to 50, or 0.32 percent of its customers countywide.
