MANHATTAN — The Paola Panther wrestling team placed fifth in the Manhattan Duals on Saturday, Dec. 11.

Kaiden Powell and Macoy Johnson were undefeated.

Powell was 5-0 for first place at 106 pounds.

Macoy Johnson went 4-0 at 132 pounds. He had a pin and a major decision.

Logan Latto had a 4-1 record at 182 pounds. He had three pins and a decision.

Ryan Pankov was 3-1 at 126 pounds. He had two pins and a decision.

Drake Bartlett was 3-1 at 285 pounds, posting all three wins with pins.

Sheldon Martin was 2-2 at 145 pounds with two pins.

Xander Meinig was 2-1 at 113 pounds with two pins.

Steven Yeager had a pin at 138 pounds. Tyce Allen won a decision at 138 pounds. Luke Faunce won a decision at 152 pounds. Braeden Whitehurst had a pin at 160 pounds. Sam Shore had a pin at 170 pounds.

The Paola Panthers went 3-2 in the dual tournament. Paola defeated Bishop Carroll by a score of 37-31. The Panthers scored a 57-15 victory against Blue Valley. Paola defeated Smith Center 54-16.

The Paola Panthers opened the season with a 3-2 record in the Spring Hill Duals on Friday, Dec. 3.

Paola defeated Blue Valley 43-31, Olathe South 48-24 and Blue Valley West 48-30. The Panthers fell to Olathe Northwest by a final of 45-32 and Shawnee Heights by a score of 66-12.

Pankov went 5-0 in the dual tournament at 126 pounds, winning all five matches with pins.

Powell was 3-0 with two pins and a technical fall at 106 pounds.

Meinig was 3-1 at 113 pounds with two pins. Allen was 3-1 at 132 pounds, including a pair of pins. Johnson was 3-2 with three pins at 138 pounds.

Martin won a decision and had a pin at 145 pounds. Whitehurst won two decisions at 160 pounds. Latto won a major decision and had a pin at 182 pounds. Bartlett had a pin at 285 pounds.
