WALTER J. OBERMEIER

 Walter (Jack) J. Obermeier, Raymore, MO, passed from this life on September 18, 2025, at Foxwood Springs Retirement Community, Raymore, MO.
 Jack was born February 24, 1936, in LaCygne, KS, son of the late Walter and Estelle (Noel) Obermeier.  Jack graduated from De La Salle Military High School in Kansas City.  Then earned a BS in Animal Husbandry from the University of Missouri, Warrensburg, and R.O.T.C. as a 2nd Lieutenant.  He went into active duty in the US Army Artillery and was stationed in Ft Lewis, WA, until he was released from active duty in January 1959.
 On October 10, 1959, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Francis Kost at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pierce City.  They were blessed with two children.
 Jack worked for the United States Department of Agriculture Market News in Des Moines, Iowa.   And he farmed in Lucas County.  He was transferred to DC for a while, but soon returned to the Des Moines office, and they lived in Milo for a while before buying an acreage near Lacona.   He loved animals, gardening, and their many friends and neighbors.  After his health took a turn in 2014, they moved to Foxwood Springs Retirement Community in Raymore, Mo.
 He is survived by his wife, JoAnn;  daughter Deb and husband Eric Karr of Long Lane, Mo; daughter Christine and husband Fred Woods of Harrisonville, Mo; three grandchildren – Kendra and husband Mark Sebesta of Tampa, FL, John Moore of Long Lane, Mo; Matt and wife Brooklyn of Kansas City, Mo; and one great-granddaughter, Elise Moore.
 Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pierce City, Mo. In lieu of flowers, please send cards and memories C/O JoAnn Obermeier, 505 Smith Dr, Raymore, MO 64083
